Changed My Internet Provider - No Webcam Shows
« on: September 11, 2019, 05:00:43 PM »
Recently changed my internet provider (Verizon to Spectrum).  Now the WU station shows online and reports, but webcam shows offline and no images. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Simply changing your ISP should not cause anything like this, but if the process changed the equipment you have at that location (modem, router or WiFi access point, etc.) your webcam may still be holding onto the old DHCP-assigned LAN IP address it had with Verizon.  Have you tried power cycling the webcam?

Would that involve just unplugging and plugging back in?

Been awhile since I set up my cameras, but are you using a new  router? Do you need to set up port forwarding?

Are you using FTP or the URL method to upload your videos?  The FTP method is more secure but WU still seems to be having regular failures of uploads, at least according to log entries here on the FTP upload end of things.

Thanks for all suggestions. Still no luck.  Using FTP, and modem and router are new from Spectrum.

Are you sure you're entering the correct info for the camera and password, ID and key from your "My Devices" page?

Since you are using ftp, there's only a few things that can be wrong.
1- no image or wrong file name
2 - user name and password incorrect
3 - send to wrong address or address cannot be resolved
4 - file rejected, too big, not a binary

What message does the ftp command return?

"The modem and router are new from Spectrum". Maybe a fire wall issue?

Some people configure cameras with a static IP. If the router/modem was changed maybe the network IP address subnet is different and the camera is not on the new network. The question is can the camera interface be reached?
