Access or Display for sharing to Weather Underground
« on: July 12, 2019, 12:33:06 PM »
I am new to this forum and weather stations.  I purchased the 5 in 1 Pro along with the Access and display model 06088M. If I'm understanding this correctly I can use either to share to WU.  Is there a benefit of using one over the other?

I did search for this before posting and missed it if there.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes it seems that the Dew Point reports better with the Access than with the Display. There may be other differences but this is a major one. Perhaps other users have more to add.

I'd go with the Access for reporting.

However, if you want the Dark Sky forecasts on the display, you'll still need to attach it to your local wireless network.

Thanks for the fast reply. Care to elaborate on the suggestion of the Access?  Would it hurt to do both?

You shouldn't use both to report to WU to the same ID as it will mess up your data. I have 4 consoles of different models (more if you count 3rd party software) and they can all report to WU. What I've done is set up a separate WU ID for each one just to compare them. I put my main one at my location and then some others around the area within a mile in the woods but not on top of my neighbors. I only keep those on others on from time to time when I'm comparing them and testing different software/firmware. In essence the other IDs are for testing.

Doing both leads to confusion.  For example, the display and Access each use their own baro sensor.  There's a good chance they aren't calibrated to each other.  The difference often shows up in the pressure graphs as "sawtooth".

Also be aware that the display doesn't transmit data to myAcurite.  For that you're going to need the Access.

I don't see a problem with dewpoint on my Wunderground reporting. I am using a display. What am I missing?

Looks to me like you are uploading with Meteobridge not the display so I can't discern any issues with WU. The problem seems to be when the humidity gets really high upwards of 98%. It seems that the display calculates dew point at certain intervals that are probably different than the temperature reporting or there is some sort of rounding issue. The result is a sometimes a dew point that is greater than the temperature in these situations.

I am using meteobridge, with it set to show 100% humidity when it hits 99%. I want to send to the sites I choose.
