Dashboard when logged in
« on: May 24, 2020, 11:09:49 AM »
Am I the only one seeing this?  The dashboard has the exact same display whether logged in or not, IE the tile sizes are the same, reduced, size.  I thought it might be Opera so I tried Edge and it's the same way there.  That leads me to believe it'snot cache or cookie related at all, but yet another new "feature" of WU.
If it's not a Boerboel it's just a dog.

Which Edge did you use? Legacy Edge or the new Chromium based Edge?

I'm using Chrome and when I log in I get no ads and the tiles are the larger full size.
Sometimes Control-F5 causes the site to reload and not use cache and can often fix issues.

As for IE...uh...don't ever run that.

I got so fed up with the childish, low-bidder layout and erratic login/logout/login/logout crap I blocked all the ads and useless "blocks" with uBlock Origin.  Since then it's been marginally usable.

I used the "legacy" IE, not the chromium based version. I am also running uBlock origin and have zero ads when logged in anyway, Opera or Edge, AKA sludge.

Between this a replacing the aspirator fan in my Acuwrong on a yearly basis I'm ready to dump both and spring for an Ekowitt.  At least the Ekowitt can upload directly to something other than the mess that WU has become.

I just tried WU with all of the following logged in and everything looked as expected with no ads and large full scale blocks.

- IE - no such thing as legacy IE....IE is just IE
- Legacy Edge
- New Edge
- Chrome

* You can't have Legacy Edge and New Edge on the same computer (at least not without jumping through some hoops and joining the MS Insider preview program and changing some group policies). Once you upgrade to New Edge then Legacy Edge is gone. But IE is still there ...just don't use IE.

You can add an Ecowitt GW1000 and keep using your existing Ambient sensors. A reasonable upgrade for only $36. Then just keep the WS-2000 online to upload to Ambientweather.net.

EDIT: Nevermind... you said you had Acurite. I thought you had an Ambient WS-2000. I've been very pleased with my Ecowitt. There is always a trade off. Nothing is perfect.

I seem to have found the problem.  I logged in using Chrome, no ad blocker, and got ads even AFTER I logged in.  Nice new "feature".

LOL, I don't really mind ads for stuff I might be interested in (or that are pleasant to look at) but that almost never happens.

I really don't know what to tell you. I don't use an ad blocker and I'm not seeing any ads when logged in, safari (iPad), FF, Chrome, whatever. As long as I'm logged in, no problem.
