I looked up that part # and the manual I found was dated 9/1/01, so I don't think you're gonna find it. Similar product at www.scaledinstruments.com.....when he has them.     EDIT:    SI part# 6153S

Yes I did contact them. There's no direct replacement. The part mentioned above (6153S) would be comparable but I don't think it would work for my application. I was looking to put a 7859 temp/humidity sensor board in the 7750 which it's designed for. I don't believe the 7859 sensor board would fit in the 6153S. The 7750 and 6153S look the same on the outside, but I don't know about the inside.

I used two 7714's to house a 7859 and a fan. A couple of hours (on the first one) of planning, measuring and a Dremel tool, drill, and #8-32 S/S hardware. Pretty satisfied with my end-product. A little imagination can go a long way. I'll check to see if I have any in-progress pictures to post.

If I get a 7710 radiation shield and then add the 7747 daytime FARS kit does that equal the 6153S with the exception of no batteries?

My thoughts are, get the 7710 and the 7747 and wire that directly to a 2-3V output wall wart and I've got 24 hr FARS for the 7859 sensor.

The problem with using a modified 7714 is there's no deflector plate to keep warm air exhausted from re-entering the shield. A major problem with previous shield designs. I'm sure you could fabricate one but I'm looking for a quick solution.

The daytime fars is better than the standard shield, the dfars running on ac is better than one on solar. The dfars helps alot in low wind speeds but the 24 hr is built with concentric tubes to isolate the sensor and the air scrubs the heat before it reaches the sensor and gives alot better temp reading. I have all of them and with alittle modifing the 24hr can be made more accurate. So you can not go wrong with what you are thinking about doing, especially if you are in an area where you have low winds.

How big of a sensor can the 24 hr FARS on the 6153 accommodate? I want to do some testing using some Davis and non-Davis temp and or humidity sensors. I definitely want to try the 7859 WMII temp/humid sensor which is the biggest sensor. Also going to test some Nimbus probes.

I never measured the mounting board, but there is alot of room in the air chamber. The Davis sensor mounts onto a board that slides down into slots, it looks like the old style analog board would fit in it ok.  I made my own sensor to put in it that eliminated the big davis board to decrease the lag time.
