Aside from the rain cone, are there any other differences between the 2013 and 2014 Vantage Pro2 models?

There was a "new and improved" anemometer that came out mid-year 2013 also.

How can you tell if it's "new and improved"?  The reason I asked is that I just received a Vantage Pro2 that was mistakenly shipped with the older rain cone.  I want to figure out if I should send it back or not for an exchange for the newer version.

How can you tell a new anemometer from an old one?

The simplest way is to compare the anemometer housings. New anemometer has D-shaped vane shaft.

Another way is to look at the manufacturing codes on the backs of consoles or on the side of weather station boxes. Please note that we have been rolling out the new design in a stepwise fashion.
