Thanks. Ecowitt support said the same thing. So far no dice, I'm wondering if I have a defective sensor unfortunately. Tried several times reregistering, power cycling both devices, etc. Took a week and a half to get here from China, unfortunately!
If I were you (not knowing the filling of your wallet though
), I would get me a GW1200 for 34 USD from the amazon.com Ecowitt store.
1. it should receive it (after the latest firmware upgrade which will be offered automatically in the WS View Plus app - for pairing see WiKi))
2. if not, the WH46 is defective and Ecowitt will replace it
3. You will have a backup console/gateway and can view live data in your local network with the WS View Plus app
(many consoles can register and process the same sensors like radio station and receivers)
4. if you want to go IoT some time, the GW1200 is (Ecowitt)IoT ready
you can have a look at our WiKi too:
http://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwikiYour HP3500 is likely an older model given that its WiFi firmware is EasyWeather 1.6.7 (old iFi modem) and not EasyWeatherPro 5.1.5 (new WiFi modem and Web Interface). This model will never get IoT enabled, however should be able to receive all classical (=non-IoT) sensors. Why the WH46 doesn't work .... - probably the device firmware needs to get upgraded, but an upgrade is not yet available ...
