Weatherlink 'can't find percep.str'
« on: August 02, 2018, 06:42:20 AM »
I have just transferred Weatherlink to a new pc running Windows 10. I have a Vantage Pro 1 and am trying to use Weatherlink 5.3.1 . WL starts ok and I can open the weather station, but when I click on Stripcharts I get the error message 'Could not find default file percep.str', and when I click the Bulletin button I get 'The serial port is connected to a Vantage Pro station. The program expects a different station model'. Weatherlink did run normally when I first installed it but now I get the errors above.

Could anyone help with this problem.

Thanks.

The two obvious initial comments are:

1. Upgrade to WL v6.0.4 (with a download from the Davis website)

2. Make sure that you have Vantage Pro selected as the station type and not eg Perception which would appear to be the case at present

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

Many thanks, Weatherlink now functioning correctly.

I had installed WL 6.0.4 but had not selected Vantage Pro, Vantage Pro Plus was selected by 'default'.

Thanks again for your prompt help.
