Title: Two easy questions regarding the WMR300
Post by: nilsh on February 06, 2018, 06:23:17 AM
Hi, so I just bought one of these, but have no experience with weather stations whatsoever (it's for a research project).

I was wondering, do you need the main unit to be in distance to the weather station for logging to be possible? We want the weather station to log for approx 2 years without we ever visiting it, but do we need to leave the main unit in distance to it?

And, how does it handle snow and ice? Will it mix up the rain gauge?

you will need to set a long data recording interval
also yes you will need to have the console within reception range. e.g normally the distance from inside a building to the grassy area of a house section around that building/house
there should be range info available
here you go

it states 300m (line of site, best conditions, no walls, I suspect)
