This is the reply I got yesterday:
Chris,
We've noticed a couple of common problems. Please check your camera software for the following issues.
* The most common problem is uploading images that are over our file size limitation which is 150K. Please check to see that your images are not over this limitation, and adjust your camera or software settings accordingly.
I checked. They're nowhere NEAR this size. And besides, if the last check time indicates it worked up until 7 am, and then stopped, I know that the image sizes are not exceeding 150k. Even if there is more color, more light, they don't exceed 150K.
* Some software packages upload a tmp file and then try to rename that file as the image name. This is not working with our current ingest daemon. Please check the settings of your software to see if this feature can be disabled, allowing a direct FTP of the image. Some software packages also try to upload HTML content with an image. This will stop your image from being successfully ingested. Please upload a single image only.
I disabled this in EvoCam.
* If you are able to upload, and the upload process reports success, but none of your images are showing on the site, make sure that your uploads are set to binary as our image conversion process will fail for images not transfered in binary format.
As for this, I have NO idea what they're talking about. WeatherGoose, help!
Thank you for your support!
You guys are quite welcome.
OK Chris,
Lets take these one at a time:
1) If your image size is indeed staying under the 150k size limit at all times, than this is a non issue. (Check the
status window in EVOcam to see the image size it is uploading)
2) I believe I provided you with a screenshot of my FTP upload path to Wunderground using EVOcam. The path ends with "image.jpg" which is exactly the file name Wunderground wants to see. EVOcam does not do anything other than what you tell it to do, meaning, (it does not send a TEMP image first and then change it to something else) so if you followed my instructions, you should be sending your cam image with the file name "image.jpg"
So again... That is a non issue.
3) EVOCam sends images using Binary, so again, a non issue.
Provided that all the above is indeed set as I instructed you a few weeks ago, the issue you are experiencing is not an EVOcam issue.
I wanted to mention... My EVOcam uploads are once again working normally after problems with delays and missing images for most of this last weekend.
