Google Map Quake displays
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:04:23 PM »
Working on my last change of the day..

The map background for the quake routines defaults to a map, with a button to select the satellite view.

is there an option to make the satellite view the default view?

Buried in the bowels of quake-json.php is the line
Code: [Select]
  \'mapTypeId\': google.maps.MapTypeId.TERRAIN

Change it to
Code: [Select]
  \'mapTypeId\': google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE

Went back to the original, TERRAIN, format.

The SATELLITE was just too 'busy' and did not show the detail.    Great at close in, not so great at 'global' views.
