Site stopped updating after latest update
« on: December 08, 2021, 10:05:54 AM »
I don't know if this is coincidental or not, but after I installed the new updates for common.php, include-style-switcher.php, and nws-alertmap.js, my site doesn't finish loading and the ajax never loads so it doesn't update.
This may be a coincidence, but I just noticed it after I updated.
Any advice would be awesome. Thank you!

Hi,

When visiting your site, all looks OK.
clientraw is frequently uploaded, the new values appear correctly, the time updates and is green for a few seconds.

All look totally normal to me,

If the problem remains, try another browser or computer. Maybe it is some kind of cache problem?

Wim

Oh, for Pete’s sake!  #-o
Yep, now it’s fine. I guess it was coincidental after all! Must have been a server problem somewhere or something. I think that PurpleAir script on the bottom was the culprit, the page would load all the way until that and stop.
Thank you for looking, I appreciate your time. :)

I think the problem was AWS it was down yesterday. A lot of ring door bell and purple air site were down.

It's been interesting to watch the AWS responses on the AWS Services Status page, and follow along with the Twitter security mavens I follow.  It appears it was a bad change pushed out, and the over-reliance/centralization of too many parts in the US-East-1 center that slowed down the recovery efforts.

None of my sites (including WXForum/Cumulus WIKI/Saratoga/regional networks) were impacted.. I don't use AWS at all.  It appears that some website resellers and some major ecommerce sites did, so were impacted quite a bit.

Apparently there are still issues at Amazon. None of my smart plugs and echos work.
Why does a smart plug have to be reliant on a web server outside of my network to operate?  :?

All of the IoT devices I've dealt with (admittedly few) require connection via a server so they can be controlled from anywhere. Not sure about these specific ones though.
