On Thurs. Aug. 16, StormTrackers for KWTV 9, Val and Amy Castor went to tour flood prone parts of Stillwater well before the downpour let up for a live Facebook video. One of the best parts starts shortly after 10:00 minutes. It looks like a hurricane. 2-3 in. came down in about an hour. High winds of up to 60mph damaged some trees.

Oklahoma stations have some of the best trackers around. Especially the two Griffin stations (KWTV 9 OKC and KOTV 6 Tulsa). Val's brother Von works in Tulsa as a tracker also.

An interesting article about the Stillwater storm. Even though it rained 2 to 3 inches, water got into places not seen before from a storm, due to the unusually high intensity of the downpour, amounting to a rate as much as over 9 in. an hour. At my station, I saw it go briefly to just over 11 in.

Any reflectivity or velocity images? I only have images back to yesterday.
