Great photos. I like the setup for your wind sensors but the stake that you have mounted the ISS on looks a bit flimsy. Is that going to remain in position, especially in strong winds and maintain level for the sensors? When I lived in Florida, it was easy to dig a 4 ft deep hole in the sandy soil and put a 10 ft pressure treated 4x4 in the ground for the ISS. Looks like that's a 4x4 post for your wind sensors?

No sway the 4 by 4 post is in the ground 3 1/2 feet with concrete with cross bars. Also my EMT is removed easily with 4 bolts for easy maintenance of the anemometer. My roof will fly away before my station goes anywhere.

Yeah, the post for the wind sensors looks great - I'm talking about the metal stake your ISS is mounted on.

BTW, how high are the wind sensors? Looks like you have an excellent location for measuring winds.

Oh ok yea that’s in the ground 2 feet almost minimal vibration there. Kept it 5 feet from ground and separated from anemometer for easy maintenance also.

I have the same set up for my Davis rain gauge and the coco. Only difference is I have the old coco model.
Have you had any comparisons yet? So far for me, about a years worth, the Davis records higher but in a respectable range. By respectable I mean about 4-8 100's.  It has never under reported.  The original Davis gauge wasn't even close most of the time.
Also I see you have green grass down there. We can't buy  a drop up in Ocala. Mine is closer to the color of cardboard.

Nice pictures and discussion, guys!

I love my trees  but sometimes only being able to see sky straight up (just about) is a bit difficult for siting a good station. Dale

Me too. Way too many tall trees.

Seems like there is a wireless issue with Adrian's station. It hasn't updated in 13 minutes as I just clicked his link. It's only in the mid 80s down there. That isn't bad.

Hi guys, hmm looks good to me.

https://adriansweatherstation.com

Yea I am firm believer your data is only as good as your setup so i spent lots of time scoping my back yard after we bought the house. We also have an HOA so it was a bit of a challenge to get it installed but I was able to get documentation and approval for the setup and the data is viewed by the entire community which of course I have no problems with. My anemometer is 22 feet with no blocking around the station. I am very much a wind guy being SFL it’s important to me. Kept the ISS 5 feet from the ground. Both the anemometer and the ISS setups are in about 3 feet of concrete with cross beams to keep things stable for minimal sway. Overall I am very happy with how things came out. Here is a pic from my ring camera excuse the quality lol it was also before I upgraded the ISS setup. Also wanted to do something for easy maintenance on the anemometer so that’s what I did.
