Ambient switching hosting
« on: August 17, 2019, 03:17:10 PM »
Just came across this:
We are experiencing issues with our hosting service Cloudant (IBM). Due to AmbientWeather.net’s exceptional growth, their database is super poor and handling large amounts of data, and we have to change database hosting services.
Therefore, we are switching to Amazon Web Services (AWS). We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing and appreciate your patience.

AWS seems to be becoming a market leader

I hope no data will be lost during the transfer...

That's kinda funny in a sad way...IBM can't seem to do anything right these days.  First they trash WeatherUnderground and now they can't keep their lifeblood cloud services running properly.

I've got a couple things running at AWS and while they're not perfect the times they've had issues I have not lost any data.

That is probably the problem with WU. Maybe WU should switch to AWS also... Haaaaa haaaa!
Yeah I know that would be unlikely to not do dogfooding. It would be like Aston Martin building a car with a Mercedes engine.... Oh wait a minute that did happen with the DB11.
