My Computer-less Station and SkyCam Website
« on: April 08, 2019, 04:07:58 AM »
Hi all!
I’ve finally achieved my goal to have a station and sky camera that upload automatically to my website without use of a computer. Naturally there are some limitations in how I can present the data with this method but pleased with what I’ve got so far. Work in progress. Please feel free to give feedback!

My setup is a Davis Vantage Vue sending data to the console in my loft which is fitted with a WiFi Logger uploading every 5 minutes to Weatherlink. The website displays this data in one of Weatherlink’s export templates. The sky camera is a BloomSky SKY2 that again operates wirelessly and uploads to BloomSky’s network. I have tried the HTML/JS script that someone posted on the forum to try and display it on my own site however struggling at the moment.  Therefore the less elegant solution at present is to embed the BloomSky website in a frame  to show the latest picture on my website.

I've had to go to the same embedding solution for my website. Examples here:

I also code the page to reload every minute, and have a four-seasons photo slide show in lieu of a webcam.
