Topic: How to find the best position of ferrite antennas? Stupid question?

Hi guys,
i've bought system red from about one month.
I've tried two positions (both under my roof) but the result is the same: some interference with medium gain (2000/3000) and poor lightnings detection.

My question is:

Is it possible to have highest lightnings detection with low gain (1000/2000)?
Or i should find a better place to have medium/high gain (2000/4000)?

I've 5 meters between antenna and controller but i'm using this item:http://www.ebay.com/itm/NetGear-WNCE2001-Universal-WiFi-Internet-Adapter-2-4-Ghz-Ethernet-port-Usb-fast-/251370790244?pt=US_USB_Wi_Fi_Adapters_Dongles&hash=item3a86dddd64 on both installations.

I cannot not use it because my router is too far from controller

The signals hit the antenna broadside... the initial high level signals are hitting the 'green' antenna, whichever one it is, for example, if it's broadside East/West, then the signal is coming from one of those two directions, more or less. If your antennas are phased exactly the same, it looks like it's West. Anyway, doesn't matter. rotate the antennas, till the arrow the two antennas form is pointing either 'east' or 'west'.  Now you should see more or less equal signal on both channels, and it should be less than green was on the original orientation. That would be about signal minimum.
Now adjust your threshold value so it just stops triggering.

from this point you can play with location until you minimize that, patience is the word.
I have one, and only one 'sweet spot' in my residence. It's in the garage, in front of the door, 3.5' above ground, 2 feet from the door,  in the exact center, where all my noise is minimize. Sucks.

Aaahhh.... The ferrite antennas should both be in the Horizontal plane... The left hand antenna is vertical. It's not getting much of the magnetic field the system is after, it's trying to detect the Electric field...  The 'arrow' would be the angle where the ends of the antennas are closest... that right angle at the bottom left. Imagine it as an arrow head. The you turn the antennas horizontally so the arrowhead points toward the interference signal, or away from it. Then both ferrite antennas receive the same signal. Ferrite's don't receive off the ends, and the signal gets stronger toward the middle.

Hi guys,
i'm here again because i think i've solved my interferences problem  
I've thought after this that my lightning receiver is reading to capture every lightning within 2000 km but i've wronged  

My lightning receiver is continuing to underperform others nearby stations and i don't know why  
This is my signal:





These are my actual settings:



and this is last 6hrs lightnings report:



As the image above shows my station underperform others stations like Bellaria, Arezzo, Medicina or Scandicci.
My question is why if i haven't low or null interferences?
