« on: March 14, 2024, 01:40:33 AM »
Hi!

There's a new firmware version V3.1.2 available for the GW2000.
Use the current WSView Plus app or the web interface (WebUI) of the GW2000 ("Device Setting") to update.

Changelog for V3.1.2:
  • Fix the memory leaks and some known crashes
  • T&HP sensor can replace indoor temperature, humidity, pressure data
  • Fixed a bug when wifi is turned off

The T/H/P was addressed in prior firmware allowing the use of wh32 indoor sensor. Or am I missing something here?

Hi!

Unfortunately, it's as usual - the changelog is a bit unkind. The option to override the internal T/H sensor was already available with v3.1.1 - but this was not mentioned in the changelog.
I (still) hope Ecowitt will be a bit more careful with the changelogs in the future ...

Yes, the changelog was was subsequently (and only after complaint) changed.
My Firmware announcement for v3.1.1 still contains the original changelog at release.

Hi!

With firmware v3.1.2 I now have significantly more heap memory. Before the reboot initiated by the update, the heap value was 106KB - now it is 143KB.

Hello, after the latest update of WSview Plus, the WH32 THP sensor (located on the ground floor) is displayed instead of the THP of the GW1101 (located on the first floor); before the wh32THP was only displayed on the HP2550 console (ground floor), and the THP GW1101 was displayed on the app. How do I find the THP of gw1101 on the app? sorry because translated by GG. if you want to show the T&HP sensor inbuilt in the GW1100, you have to disable the TH&P sensor in the WSV+ app for your GW1100. Then it will use its inbuilt sensors.

But it was not the update of WSV+, it was the update made with the help of WSV+. The upgrade was the firmware upgrade of the GW1100 to 2.3.1 which introduced the choice of T&HP sensors.

The translation is ok, even though www.deepl.com will give you better translations than Google translate.

It's not a simple but a more complex procedure where you have to create a fake website (sort of DNS spoofing) to sell a local file location as the ecowitt.com/ecowitt.net download location to the GW2000.

We are working on describing such a procedure for all the different devices and purposes (upgrade/downgrade) which will take some time. Once ready we will publish it in our WiKi.

Wow.. this is starting to sound like what was done for ReplayTV (SonicBlue/Panasonic) PVRs in the 2000s where the entire site was proxied so that channel guide data, show sharing, etc continued to work after shutdown.

At the moment, we believe there are a couple of ways to do it. The fake webserver (redirect/proxy/mitm) is one possible solution that we are investigating.  Another is to simply run a standalone program that uses the GW1000 "telnet" protocol to feed the desired firmware to the device. These are very different methods, and involve differing skills to implement. So we are working on both approaches.  (The "we" to which I refer includes me and several others who may remain anonymous until we are ready to publish tested procedures.)
