Wind gusts WFL1
« on: January 21, 2025, 03:18:45 PM »
Hey everybody,

On my WU page (for the longest I can remember) it does not separate wind gusts from wind speed.  I would guess that is an issue between WFL (version 2.38) and WU but I wanted to see if anybody here has seen this issue.  In some rare cases you can see it is separate.

Attached is a snip of the real time data screen from WFL

As another point of data, it does work correctly with PWS weather. Those values are separate

Now I don't remember very well, but in the WU settings there is a choice of displaying wind speed and average wind speed (I may be wrong). View your settings.

I also send data to WU from Davis via WFL v1 and the wind graph looks similar to yours. I experience stronger wind gusts, which is why I have greater differences on the chart. At Your place calm winds prevail, from what I can see.

My example:

Look at my graphs on WU and AW.

Both fed by a WFL to MB to Service.

It's a WU problem as far as I can see. I don't see anywhere on WU to set how gusts are processed.

I see it working for ambient weather stations or davis stations using weatherlink (and no rapid fire) so I was curious to see if it was potentially a crossed wire somewhere.  Thanks for the input
