Farmtalk:

If salt is sticky,
And gains in weight;
It will rain
Before too late

Bushman:
Accurate.  Sort of.

Old Tele man:
Sodium Chloride (salt) is hygroscopic...attracts water from air.

Lookup the word: deliquescence

MikeSatter:
This is one that I remember from the Bible.
Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight, red sky in the morning shepherd's warning’

Aardvark:
gee thought the saying was "If your shoe sticks to the floor, don't reach down and feel for why."
