Title: Disassociating a system red unique serial number with station ID
Post by: dfroula on October 13, 2021, 01:56:06 PM
Mike or anyone,

I recently sold my System Red station to a group of enthusiasts in the Azores. I factory reset the unit prior to shipment. However, the association with my station ID persisted. I believe it needs to be unlinked at the server. I was unable to find a setting on my Blitzortung station page to do that, however.

Any ideas? The new owners will need to switch the serial number to their station and region.

Best regards,

You login to your operator's page.  Delete the station 681  from your panel. That takes it off you, and removes it.  It already is 'delisted', since no data for awhile, but shows assigned to your user id #.  So remove it. It may or may not continue to show on adjunct Lightningmaps.org.... no sweat, LMO won't read newer BT databases properly.
xxxSaint CharlesUnited States / Illinoisxxxxxx
681 (https://www.blitzortung.org/en/station_list.php?&stations_users=0&sort_column=user&sort_order=asc&selected_numbers=681)
New owners then simply add station using the µP ID/sn, adding their configuration, location, name etc.... If they're not registered as an operator, then they'll have to go to that process. If you've deleted it, latest firmware should give them a 'register' link. Otherwise they may have to contact Egon directly. Station number auto assigned by server. Probably remains 681.
Soon as servers receive data from new site, etc, server will add, with received LAT/LONG, and should probably move to Portugal, Europe Servers 1, 2, 3, and with your engineered station qualities,  [tup] , eventually, or sooner, also under Africa, North America, South America servers/reporting DBs also, assuming they don't goof it up somehow and it lives in a quiet environment. However, the 'region' assignments and 'conventions' we've been familiar with are under review, so such assignments may change.

Excellent, Mike. Thanks for the info. I missed that check box on the station page. Bye-bye station 681...

I'm interested to see how the station performs in its new location.

Shipped it out today, with extra ferrites.

Best,

Don
