Help with unreliable Alerts - LaCrosse VA40Pro and Lacrosse View
« on: November 14, 2022, 09:54:43 PM »
Hi Guys,

We have a holiday house with some flooding risks and we need reliable rain alerts for certain conditions (I.e. more than 5mm in 1 hour etc).

We have a VA40Pro with a very good wifi connection and the outdoor rain/wind sensor has a stron connection.
We have ti connected to LaCrosse View and also weather underground.

Connection to the unit via the Lacrosse App and Wundergound has been super stable.

However the Alerts from LaCrosse View are very hit and miss, will work fine for a few weeks then have a period of just not working.
We get neither the push alerts orf emails...

Is there another solution where I can use a service to tap into the wunderground data to watch for my alert states?

The guys at LaCrosse Technology australia said maybe we should have bought a WS2980C, setup better for Australia and it uses Ecowitt for data and alerts, they say it is more stablke.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers
James
