VVP hangups
« on: October 01, 2018, 10:45:31 AM »
I recently installed Virtual VP the other day to run both Weather Link and Weather Display software at the same time. I have the virtual TNC port set up and for the most part everything works fine without issues. However I've noticed the last few nights VVP seems to be hanging up and both Weather Link and Display stop receiving data. This seems to happen around midnight.

Here's the thing, my weather station situation has changed, I now run it at a local business (car wash) and I don't have access to it in the middle of the night. I'd like for it to be able to run without issues at night as it's left on.

I also read through the forums and learned that VVP might be on its last limb during to personal issues with the writer several years ago. :( I'd like to continue using VVP as long as possible as for the most part it's a great program.

Thanks.
I live in an apartment and for the moment am not a home weather watcher.

I am a storm chaser.

TeamViewer might help?  And StartWatch is also very useful.  I use both and they've saved me countless trips to the computer with the problem.

I use VVP, Startwatch and Teamviewer to access my school computer.
Teamviewer free for 5 computers and under for personal use.

Yes, you are correct. However, I have a TeamViewer business account, and its not free. Remote PC.com apparently does the same, however for around $600.00 a year less.

Got StartWatch downloaded yesterday and everything is good. No hangups last night. I've thought about running one of those remote access programs and maybe in the future but right now things are tight financially.

My weather station is at the car wash locked up in an office at night so I don't have the ability to get to it at night. I'm just glad everything is working and hopefully it stays that way.
