UV sensor for Rainwise MK-III
« on: October 15, 2021, 08:33:06 PM »
I am ordering a solar sensor and board from Rainwise.

But if anyone has a UV laying around, I would be interested. RW quit making them.

I wasn't aware that a solar sensor could be added to the Mark III station.

How does it display on the consoles?  Or through IP-100?

You you mount it on the same grouping of sensors as the solar panel, temp, humidity, WD-WS and rain gauge?

Do tell!

They have an expansion board and mounting bracket. I have ordered one but like I said, they quit making the UV sensor.

I have a cc-3000 that I am using, with weather display. WD should be able to just check the box to get it going.

If this does not work well, then I will put in for a Davis in  a few years.

Well that is good news.  I hope you keep us posted as to your progress.

I really like the RainWise stuff.  I have one here, a bunch of parts, one at the little grass strip airport and one at a friend's place.

The problem is getting service.  I have never had to mail back a whole unit to be looked at and a couple  years ago was told by one of the tech guys that his pile of 'used' parts was almost gone, as well as the supply of new boards to fix these units.

And I don't think I have more than one unit that is alike inside.  I prefer the LR models, but have tried to fiddle with getting parts of several Mk IIIs combined to make a worked one, and not much luck.

Anyway, when it comes I wonder if you'll have time to snap a few pix of the gizmo, where it plugs in and getting it to run with the 3000 interface.
