WS-3000X5 USB Software Question
« on: July 07, 2019, 02:05:11 PM »
In the SD Card USB software for the WS-3000X5, is it possible to save the column widths in the display of the .csv files instead of having to adjust them each time a different file is viewed? Thanks!

Such is the nature of .csv files from anywhere not just weather stations. A .cvs file is a raw text file. CSV stands for comma separated values. All that is in the file is the raw data and each value separated by a comma.

You can though open a .csv file in Excel or Google Sheets or LibreOffice Calc and then save it as a .xlsx file format and then it will retain any column width formatting you want to save. You can save a lot more too like font changes and other layout and formulas...etc.

But the new .xlsx format you save to can not be used by the hardware as it can only write to .csv file output. Which means you can copy a .csv file and simply save it as a .xlsx to convert it but that is what you get... a copy.

When opening up a .csv file the quick way to expand the column width to the perfect size (based on the longest data in that column) is to double click on the column divider between the column letters. Then save the file to .xlsx format.

Does the SD card need to be removed from the WS-3000 or is there a way to access the .csv files through the normal File Explorer? Thanks again.

The EasyWeather2 program is used for the station HP3500.
For the WS-3000 station there is the EasyTemp program:
