Who Is Streaming with YouTube??
« on: July 24, 2017, 11:02:09 AM »
So, is anyone doing this successfully? Wondering if so, what camera you're using
and if anyone watches your camera.

I've noticed one of my Hikvision cameras has condensation on the inside around the infared light
and think it may be getting close to time that it will give up, especially once it gets cold.

I'd like to go the YouTube streaming directly from the camera without any add on like XSplit or the same.

Thanks!!
Tony

I think maybe you can use the info on this website http://www.stardot.com/netcamlive

I'm setup to, I just don't do it all the time. Now with the new version of IPTimelapse software, YouTube live streaming is built-in.

Has anyone gotten the IPTimelapse to work yet on Youtube? My understanding Youtube requires camera to have secondary audio feed many Ip cameras don't have.
Stardot has gotten around this issue somehow.
I don't have the upload speed bandwidth for youtube Stardot netcamlive camera my ISP cut my bandwidth back after streaming for a couple weeks.

Currently I'm ondemand only using the Hikvision and not using Youtube. Hikvision with 264+ uses about 1/2 the bandwidth the Stardot netcamlive camera uses. I can upload a decent stream quality at 2Mbps vs Stardotlive camera requires 5 Mbps upload speed.
Service I use is https://www.ipcamlive.com/ which is pricy but they do have a free option. They have several plans I use the ondemand only because of bandwidth limitations and keep ISP from complaining.

What's nice about using someone else's server you can support 1000+ viewers at a time and not supplying bandwidth other than what camera needs to upload stream.

My streaming camera is here this is HD and only using around 2 Mbps upload and supports 1000+ viewers at once.

Thanks I may give it a try when my subscription to ipcamlive runs out in February. If I can get the lower usage Hikvisions working with IPtimelapse may do a 24/7 stream and see how long before ISP complains.

I had my Hiki up for a while on YouTube. Looked really good. Had to run it through
3rd party software which the name escapes me. I'd really like to run them both, but
having them do it all on their own without a computer will be a bit expensive. Plus,
I'd only be able to stream 1 at a time on YT I assume.

Now that I have a 300 Mb xfinity connection, I won't have any bandwidth streaming issues. :-) I liked how easy it was to setup in IPTimelapse. Great feature.

From YouTube:
-------------------
Yes - you can either create up to 6 camera angles inside one player using the multi-cam player or create as many single camera separate live events as you'd like.  Please make sure that you have enough bandwidth at your location to encode for the amount of live events you'd like and refer to our Live Help Center for other best practices.

IPTimelapse can now stream Hikvison cameras without audio.  Just select the checkbox to operate without an audio channel.  -Mike

Mike, I just love the Youtube streaming option. One click on and one click off, doesn't get any simpler than that. I just used it last weekend when we had snow here in Georgia and streamed for about 12 hours or so. Very cool.

Can I ask for two things? :-)

1. Add the YouTube start/stop as a toggle button/link on the main screen
2. Add a "Start next camera" link to the main screen. At times I've had to close a camera window and want to reload it, I have to poke around the other 3 camera screens and use a new camera option to load the camera.

Also... occasionally for unknown reasons, the software may lose a camera, and when I get the camera working again (and it may not be down at all), the software refuses to reconnect to the camera. A restart of the computer will fix it, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Hi Steve, do you have the latest version of IPTimelapse running?  Currently it is 2.7.1071.  There have been updates to how the streaming is handled.

Is this just a straight up upgrade? Do I need to worry about settings or anything like that?

If you are using a 2.7. version it is a straight (Pro) version upgrade and can install on top of your current version and the settings will carry over.  It would also be a good idea to keep a backup file of the settings using the menu Setting->Export option.

I should have learned that lesson when I upgraded from before. :-) I had to rebuild all of my stuff. :-)
Thanks!

Probably more than your bandwidth can handle.

Thanks. I guess that only works with live events. I'm testing it out with XSplit right now.

It will change scenes every X amount of time. I've got it set to 1 minute right now.

I just went live with my streaming cam this morning...  I'm actually still in beta, but it's such a beautiful day I couldn't resist.  I am using the IPTimelapse package with a Hikvision 2032 cam...
