PC vs. Netbook
« on: June 19, 2009, 09:34:33 AM »
I wanted to get either a new small PC or netbook to run all my weather goodies. I noted the rather longer Acer thread below.

However, I was also looking at getting the Boltek StormTracker that requires a PCI slot.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I would get a desktop. You are able to put in just about anything you need. high end graphics cards to support GRLEVEL products, camera processing, etc. I tried that with a laptop and it got bogged down. There may be those on here that have laptops and have no problems using them to support multiple high-load processing.
