Red Firmware 6.4 released - 1/22/2014
« on: January 22, 2014, 02:45:49 PM »
A fix to the problems with 6.3 has been released this morning. I installed it using the STM32 ST-Link utility and it went in without any problems at all. Got a GPS lock in less than 60 seconds and smoothing values shortly after that.

Tobi also added a new GPS satellite map to the GPS screen which is very nice (as usual).

I had to use the ST-Link utility because I had installed 6.2 and couldn't use the web interface. Hopefully that is now fixed. Will find out when the next up firmware update comes out...

Just used the web interface on 6.3 to successfully update to 6.4

Bonus: the GPS was smoothed in 9 seconds and fully online in less than a minute.

Glad to hear it worked "as intended" for you Ken. I have noticed since installation that my Red amp gains are more closely matched to each other (10*2*40) and so far, seem to be higher than they were prior to 6.x. The thresholds are lower than I had manually set them though. Guess that is how Tobi has programmed it to be to increase the sensitivity.

I hope to get my antenna moved out of my office later this week. Am thinking about placing it outside in a home-built wooden box so it is away from my electrical noise in the house. So far, I haven't been able to find an electrically quiet place anywhere inside, including my attic space. I need to take advantage of this dry weather we are having before the thunderstorms start-up in the Spring and Summer months.
