Ethernet Logger
WiFiLogger:
Hi
I am finishing work with Ethernet Logger.
I need to ask people (this mean You) about some preferations.
I will post multiple photos in this topic and questions about it.
First introcuction: Ethernet Logger is very similar to WL IP.
Main features:
- Export weather data to WeatherLinkŪ.com
- Export data to WeatherUnderground.com
- Export to custome server using PHP&MySQL.
- All exports with 1 min interval, no RapidFire.
- Robust connection with PC software on TCP port 22222. WeatherLink PC, Cumulus etc.
- RTC with battery backup
- Console is not losing batteries in case of AC power down. Ethernet ability is not working without power, but batteries are for console and logger memory only.
- power: Davis AC adapter/ Davis USB cable/ USB-C cable

First question:
Should I rotate telephone cable?
I can use other kind of RJ11 socket, then cable will not have to be twisted.
With short cable it could be important, but I was thinking about 15-20 inches cable in set with Ethernet Logger.

Another thing.
Ethernet socket goes beyond PCB. It is solution for example box.
I am not planing to have a box for it, but Davidmc36 (WX member) made one using 3D printer.
Should I make RJ11 socket with the same style?

Maybe, but if I bought one of these I would probably clip or Velcro the unit to the back of the console, then the twist would not matter (or could be beneficial, I'd have to think about it).
