I have an ecowitt GW-1000 and have it running locally.  I can see data on my little digital display, and also on my mobile phone using the WSView app.  I see the devices, have set up the router with password, have it posting to ecowitt.net and see gibberish (a good thing, I think) in the testing field.  I put in my wunderground PWS and API key.

When I look at my PWS at Wunderground all I have ever seen is OFFLINE.   Looks like I am most of the way there.  Setting up the device @weatherunderground.com forces me to choose a device type, and there are no ecowitt devices, nor obvious (to me anyways) clones to choose from.  I figure that ECOWITT would be pushing data to wunderground in the format they want anyways.

Any suggestions as to what to do next ?

Thanks.  I had it set that way for a few days and that hadn't helped.

You are supposed to put in here the key from https://www.wunderground.com/member/devices (you need to be logged in - My Devices)
an eight character key, and NOT the API key which is a much longer key and meant for other purposes.

Sorry that I wasn't more accurate.  I did use the 8 digit mostly letters PWS Key to go with the name.

Re-typed about 5 times to make sure I was getting the caps correct.

Actually, I'm having the same problem.  I can't get my GW1000 to show up as online either.  I hadn't configured it to do so until just now.

beyond that you can try if the problem is with WU - it sometimes is
enter in your browser the following line
http://weatherstation.wunderground.com/weatherstation/updateweatherstation.php?action=updateraw&ID=YOUR-ID&PASSWORD=your-credentials&dateutc=now
replace YOUR-ID and your-credentials by the values from your account.
If it works, you should receive a "success" message.

And, as said before, connect with a browser on your smart phone to wunderground.com, get to your device page, press the "copy credentials" link at the left side of the device entry and then tap on the key line in the WSView app for WU and paste.
Make sure there is no space at the end of the 8-character string.

WU is slow to respond to changes. We kind of know that.
Biggest issue I have seen as Gyvate has pointed out, is using either the wrong key, or not putting it it in correctly the O o thing is a huge culprit.

WU, unfortunately, will not respond that everything is OK in short order, it may take a day or two

My GW1000 just showed up as online, yet it has data for past 2 hours.
I have a WS2000 I'm now waiting on too.  So, yes, WU takes a while to actually show online (if you get it right on your side).
Another odd thing is that the WS2000 is showing data online if you drill down to it from a map, even thought its marked offline in my devices list at WU.

Well, I got hosed by a character that could have been either a capital I, lower case i, or a 1....  Copied the credentials and pasted them into a word document so that I could try all the combos and see what matched.  Looks like that fixed it.

Thanks for the help !
