What's your experience with orders from them?

I have one that was placed on 12/07/21 which is still listing as Unshipped.
So it's now had that status for 12 days.

I've ordered from Amazon US up to this point, but will likely be ordering directly next time, due to items out of stock.

The delay seems to be typical. There are several threads in this forum on Ecowitt taking a few weeks to get an order together, and they have a note on their site also explaining orders in stock may take two weeks.

However, most of the threads also say Ecowitt will respond to inquiries and orders are eventually fulfilled satisfactorily.

The good news: GW1100 is now listed on Amazon (USA). It says only two left in stock
https://www.amazon.com/ECOWITT-Weather-Temperature-Humidity-Barometric/dp/B0978XLG8T

The bad news: It's priced at $69.99

(I've placed my order directly with Ecowitt for half the price)

I've just placed my order with Ecowitt. I had enough points to knock $6 off the bill. Cool!

Interestingly, the GW-1000 is no longer listed on the Ecowitt website, the only choice now is the GW-1100

Also interesting is that the GW-1100 comes with a USB extension to move the device away from the electrical and heat emissions of the power supply

Of course.

Just after I placed my order with Ecowitt the price on Amazon was lowered from $69.99 to $34.99.

Will the AW Meteobridge read the gw1100? There is no setting on the AW Meteobridge for the gw1100 and I'm wondering if the gw1000 selection will work.

The description says:  "After configure WiFi, view live Data on web page or WS View APP"

I'd love to see what the live data web page looks like if someone gets it up and running. That sounds like a nice feature.

On the Ecowitt product page, you can scroll down to the bottom, click on the "Manual & Software" tab, and download the manual. The live data tab is on page 23 labeled, "Figure 10: Configure screen 8"

Connected my gw1100 to the AW Meteobridge and it seems to work fine. Have yet to  check all the places I'm sending data too.

Note: When the gw1100 is disconnected or powered down I have to reconnect it. This means turning off the 5.0 wifi again to connect to the 2.4 wifi.
Guess during a long power outage this would have to be repeated.

Also the barometer reads much lower than the gw1000 thats sitting right next to it or others I have by -.04 inHg

Using the web based setup is much nicer!

Update:

This morning the gw1100 is connected to the AW Meteobridge and sending data. \:D/
The web based view needs to be reconnected to the 2.4 wifi to view, again. For some reason I have disable the wifi 5.0 and reconnect constantly. Guessing changing the name for the 2.4 wifi different from the 5.0 may help. However it still sends data and can view on the wsview ap.
The gw1100 barometer is still reading -.05 inHg low when comparing to the gw1000, hp2551 and ws2000 without using offset on absolute's.

No sign of it locally here in Aus, with Amazon Au still listing just the GW1000.

Picked up on the fact just now though that Ecowitt.com does not have it listed in a 433MHz version as yet.

if the same hardware is used, will the mini webserver and mini config application be overbearing?   Has anyone had any issues?

The observer IP was very nice but seemed to suffer under load or time of use.  The gw1000 without that overhead seems to be fairly consistent.

I was hoping the gw1100 had at least a little upgrade of hardware to deal with the extra overhead.

The original GW1000 was released many years after the ObserverIP. The hardware in the GW1000 is much more capable than the ObserverIP. The ObserverIP was only sluggish if you were polling it for data by constantly screen scraping the live data page. If this was not done then the ObserverIP ran without issue. Basically if you used the ObserverIP with a Meteobridge then you were overtaxing the ObserverIP. The GW1000 sends data in two totally different ways. The addition of a web interface in the new GW1100 will not be used to continuously poll live data...therefore I do not expect there to be the problem that the ObserverIP had. So to recap....for two different reasons I think that the GW1100 will not have issues with the web interface....1) the hardware is much more powerful than the ObserverIP  2) The web interface will not be used to screen scrape live data.

Thanks sir!  you are on the money with my issues with observer IP (MB <- ObsIP).  MB <- GW1000 seems much more reliable, albeit it's not fully pulling all data from the GW yet.

What do you mean by, "...albeit it's not fully pulling all data from the GW yet."?

The way to get data from the ObserverIP, by screen scraping, is archaic and it was crude. On the other hand the way that the Meteobridge gets data from the GW1000 is elegant and proper by the use of a righteous API data protocol. In all fairness to the ObserverIP it was just not designed for constant screen scraping. The fact that this was ever a solution is appalling. The GW1000 on the other hand can continuously serve live data (all of it) to several software/devices simultaneously without even causing the GW1000 to break a sweat. It isn't just because the GW1000 is more powerful, but because the data acquisition is completely different.

not to get off-topic, but I am not seeing a method to pull all the data from the GW1000 from meteobridge sensors.  one off the top of my head would be WH41 battery (pm25batt1).  Maybe it is not implemented in the ecowitt api yet?

Okay thank you for the clarification. When I said that the Meteobridge would get from the GW1000 all of the data I was referring to all weather related sensor data and all sensors models. Your clarification regarding battery status is correct. This is because the Meteobridge has not implemented the ingestion of battery status for the GW1000. The GW1000 API certainly does provide this battery information. It is just that the Meteobridge is not making use of it. This is purely a choice by the developer of the Meteobridge software. Some reasons for this situation is because earlier GW1000 API documentation was poorly written (newer  versions are better but not great) and making sense of battery status was difficult to figure out. Then depending on the sensor, the battery status was reported in a totally different formats. Then the GW1000 API through its development cycle changed in regards to battery status. There was an older Meteobridge release version that did try to support battery status of some sensors. But in the interim the decision was made by the Meteobridge developer to just take the feature out because it was a headache. Certainly it is something that could be revisited now that the GW1000 API development has been more or less settled. I would encourage you to make the suggestion to the developer Boris. Other software do currently support the GW1000 API and battery status.
