Is Kestrel just selling the Rainwise unit under the Kestrel brand or has Kestrel purchased Rainwise?

Rainwise has been a somewhat stagnate brand for a while which made it ripe for acquisition.

I guess the question now is what will happen in the long term. Did NK/ClearView just want the IP/weather station expertise, did they just want the brand, or did they want both? Who knows.

Personally, I feel like the Rainwise brand has never been as strong as Davis, RM Young, etc. To me Rainwise is in the "upper end consumer/lower end professional" market and Davis is just an overall better value there. Just my $0.02
