after resetting with the R button. this screen for hours now and surely that can't be true. I'm afraid he's suffering from screen burn.😡

I had this Hard reset procedure from Davis support but it didn't work, it's a case of exchange under warranty I think?

Please unplug the USB cable, and then insert a paper clip in to the hole labeled P (indicated as Power Off Access below) for 10 seconds pressing the button inside

Davis tech support is in no rush to respond to the email. I have been trying for a week to get my frozen Weatherlink 6313 console exchange procedure.
Being French Canadian, I cannot call them directly.
Shame to pay so much for their product and not get the service in return.

Where did you buy the console from? That dealer should be your point of contact for support.

Ah! Too late now I know, but always best to buy from your official in-country dealer then you should be able to get more prompt support. Davis in the US will respond I'm sure but it often takes a little time and I think it was a holiday weekend so presumably a backlog in support calls.

In Canada (North America), Davis direct is the usual way for support no matter where it was purchased (they don't even ask).  A telephone call is the quickest, and they have always replied to my emails as well but this can be a few business days for the reply.

You know, it might be worth unplugging the power and leaving the unit for a day for the backup power to run down. Then plug in again and retry the start-up.

I have nothing to lose trying it, but for now it freezes a update I did the hard reset procedure.

I recently replaced my failed 6351 console with a new 6313 for almost $400.  Setup was easy, it worked for a week, then the screen froze.  I called Davis tech support and waited for 30 minutes and hung up. 2 more calls, same wait, hung up.  I read through the WXForum posts and tried the paper clip reset in the “P” at the rear of the console.  It worked for a day and froze again.  I reset it again yesterday and it is still working ok. Since Davis was acquired in 2019, things have gotten so bad even long time customers are scrapping their stations and buying $70 weather-stations  that include a console from China on AliExpress.  I haven’t done that yet but if the 6313 freezes again, I will order a knockoff, retire my Davis 6250/6313 pair, and try the cheap version. I don’t want to change anything but Davis is expensive and apparently uses the same imported parts and “assembles” things in the US. 

Has anyone tried one of the Chinese knockoffs that look like a 6250?
