Barometer drift in VP2
« on: November 01, 2006, 07:59:31 PM »
I own 2 different weather monitorII stations and are always with in .01" of each other in which almost always matches the closest asos station which is 9mi. away.  The VP2 how ever is sometimes .03" off even when the pressure tendency is steady.  Anyone else out there that notices the drift with thier VP2.

Thanks,
The Weatherman (Tim)

I do know that the algorithm used by the VP2 is different from the one usec by the VP1, which was (as I recall) different from the algorithm used by the WMII.

So, if you are seeing a difference that drifts WITHIN a day, then perhaps that is the reason.  However, if you are asking about a long-term drift (in the same direction, over several days), then that wouldn't be it.
