Good software for Vantage Pro 2 Plus

(1/3) > >>

chpal:
I have a Vantage Pro 2 plus where I use Davis' own software on my PC. Now I would like to have another better software for my PC (Win 11) that works well with my station. I have looked at Weather Display and Cumulus, but I find it difficult to choose and maybe there are others that are better. Suggestions are welcome.

chief-david:
I am all in on Weather Display. But using them  at the same time is nearly impossible.

That is the fault of davis, not any software.

I've been using WD for 20 years. I would say it is a bit complex with a learning curve, but it's very flexible and powerful.

johnd:
Weather Display and CumulusMX (not the original Cumulus which is now a legacy app) are the two most obvious and most popular candidates. There are several others but not with the popularity of WD or CMX, which should tell you something.

I suspect that most users who have tried both would plump for CumulusMX as the best compromise for features and ease of use (plus free and well-supported).

CumulusMX now has a Weatherlink data converter so your existing Weatherlink .wlk data can be imported in a new CumulusMX install.

Enjoy,
