New cam at Moosehead Lake, Maine
« on: February 26, 2012, 02:37:04 PM »
Here is a new webcam I setup last Friday at the head of 40 mile long Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine.  It is a center of snowmobile activity in the winter and summer vacations in the summer.  The boat "Katahdin" surrounded by ice right now takes visitors on summer cruises up the lake.  That boat was built in 1914 at Bath Iron Works.  Here is the link - http://www.greenvillewebcam1.com/  I use home grown software to control an Olympus SP-500UZ and put weather info on it from the Greenville airport.  It also has the option to read weather data from any XML station posted on weatherunderground.

At night it auto switches to long exposure (8 seconds, settable) and back to auto exposure when daylight comes.  The transition between auto and long exposure is based on the image scene average.  The threshold for that change can be set in the program GUI.
