« on: July 26, 2019, 05:55:26 AM »
Just got an Ambient WS-2029 and on the display shows a steady solid wifi signal and displaying info on screen, yet is not sending weather data to ambient.net,
Yet inputted the right mac address. All I am getting is.

try setting everything up on an apple device. I had problems doing it on my Android.

Then make sure you did not transpose anything or mix up O and 0.

It's not you-It's WU.

A couple of points...

- You mean WS-2902A not WS2029...right?

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

- Since you are not in the USA just want to be sure you have a real Ambient WS-2902A and not some other branded similar Fine Offset clone? If it is another brand then it won't work because Ambientweather.net is only for Ambient branded stations. You might though have an option in the settings for Ecowitt.net which is very similar.

PS - This thread was started in the wrong sub. I've reported it so that it gets moved. Belongs in Ambient hardware not Ambient VWS software sub.

I just dealt with this when setting up my WS-2000 for the first time. It turned out to be a type-o in the MAC Address. I deleted and re-entered the new device three times. On the fourth time, I painstakingly set the weather station up character-by-character and found my mistake in the MAC. Interestingly enough I was still getting the "This looks good prompt" (or something close to this) from the Ambient Server. Everything came up running great. When you solve the issue please update this thread for others to know how you solved your problem. Thanks and good luck, Dennis!

The help area on Ambient weather suggest powering down the base and removing batteries. Then reboot your router and reinstall batteries in the base and or plugin power again.

Great idea. Have an ipad at home and yes it is a genuine ws 2029. Will redo it tonight

If you are having trouble calling the Ambient WS-2902A by the right name even after I've pointed it out, maybe you are entering in the wrong MAC address by mistake. I suggest you have some else be a second pair of eyes. Hey happens to some of us more than others. I know someone that combats this same thing by being a bit OCD and taking longer to complete tasks because they double and triple check. It's a form of dyslexia and is quite common. The important thing is to be aware of it so that you can be more observant and/or ask for a second look. Please take no offense. Just trying to help.

Maybe the wrong MAC address isn't it.... But you do keep wrongly calling it a 2029... So this is what pops in my head. Even if you aren't dyslexic and it's just your smart device keyboard auto correcting (maybe it likes 2029), a second pair of eyes is not a bad idea.
