Topic: GOES Image

    I got this in my daily NASA newsletter briefing.  It is a GOES-11 image of Tropical Storm Omeka.  The image of the storm is not particularly noteworthy but the entire image is awesome, IMHO.

That's one heck of a line heading into California.
The news sites have been reporting it as an atmospheric river of rain.

That's nothing new for an pineapple express happens here all winter long just the news media  hypes up on it and people take notices. had that same stuff been coming into SE Alaska you would have never heard about it. After all who lives in Alaska  to report about. But plenty of the celebs etc lives in Cal.

   I found another good satellite image that is for the entire hemisphere this morning.

   You can get Visible, IR, Enhanced IR, and Watervapor.  Hope it is useful to someone.

   NASA posted another satellite image of the US for holdiay travelers taken from GOES 11 and GOES 13 on 23 Dec.  Looking at the large image is really cool especially on HD monitor.
