So I've read some past posts but have not seen anything new about Windows 7. Is anyone using it? What weather applications are you using on it. What have you learned that we might want to know?
I ask all of these questions because my Weather PC is about 3 years old and XP has been great. However, the PC sometimes will not reboot when it hangs. Yes all PC's will sooner or later hang. I have to reboot about once every 2-3 months. Hey its running 24x7 like most of yours is. Anyway, I feel its been a good PC so maybe its time to replace it.
This PC is a dual core Intel CPU, 2 GB RAM, Gig net card, the HDD is maybe a 250, using XP Pro w/ SP3, the app is VWS and IS with 2 cameras. The next PC will probably be another dual core or possible a quad, 4GB RAM, Gig NIC, probably a 500GB HDD (Don't really need that much space but I have one laying around). I'll buy a new motherboard, CPU, 80 plus power supply.
If you are running Linux or another OS, please post what OS flavor your running and the applications. If its time for a change, later would be better but at least I'll know what the masses are doing!
