Sam,

I received the same button code email and made the changes requested. It worked fine for about two hours last night and then died. Not sure what is going on but the icon shows only a red-X on my webpages. Must be a server issue of some kind.

There must be something in his code that is really pissing off the servers!

He was having the same kind of instability and crashing on the other server before this one. I don't think I have seen a site with so many issues in a long, long time.

The other down side is that we all end up with broken images on all of our pages. I'm not a big fan of linking to external servers for just this reason, but I thought I would give this one a shot.

I'll have to agree with you on this one! I was just thinking - why do we even use these "topsite" stats anyway? All they really do is boost (or lower) our own egos and add to the load times of our website... It would be nice for the topsite owners to use the same size icons. They would look much nicer if all were the same size. Of course, it's our own decision to use or not use so we can only blame ourselves...

Yeah...I don't know, and I agree with you about the size of the image banners too. I just made a new one for WXFLINT to hopefully use on his TOP SITES site. I much prefer narrow and WIDE images than BIG SQUARE ones that take up too much horizontal space. Maybe if Lars likes what I did for Flint, I will make one for him too that is the SAME SIZE! LOL! $\:D/$

I'm truly sorry for this, my mistake.

I configured the server to use the htaccess file but there was something wrong with it.

But now is it working again.

You sure you are not looking at a CACHED version of the page?

If not then he's obviously got a DNS problem going on. It is definitely not working here. The error message I am getting is from his hosting provider.

I tried it with two different browsers before I posted the first report tonight. It is back on again now. Was down here for a good 90 minutes.

This seems to be happening at least twice a day for the last several days for me.
