Ecowitt WS2910
« on: March 02, 2025, 11:05:23 AM »
Can someone please tell me if you can purchase a separate console that will work with this Ecowitt WS2910 model?  I really would like a second console but can't seem to find one or indeed if you can link 2 consoles from one outdoor sensor?

Hi

I can’t see any reason why not. I have a WS2910 and a GW3000 both receiving data from the same WS69 array.

Cheers

Thank you Paul, I just need to find out now if you can purchase a separate console.

As a followup to Paul's comment above, there is a chart on this page shows compatibility (scroll down)
 https://shop.ecowitt.com/products/ws2910?srsltid=AfmBOooFHzgaHc58rtujqneVQdQsTxKhS7bl7-IIQSghT1cy-bF73uiR

It helps to know that the WS2910 is a 'kit' with a WS69 sensor array as part of the kit. So find the WS69 on the chart and look across that line to see what works with the WS69.

Thanks Graham that is very helpful, so would I be reading this chart right in saying I can only have one console to my array?

Hi

No as I mentioned above I am running in effect two consoles (one just doesn’t have a screen).

Weatherspares.co.uk (no connection other than as a satisfied customer) list the WS2910 separately although currently out of stock.

https://weatherspares.co.uk/products/ecowitt-ws2910_c-display-console-power-cable

What that chart shows is that if you had two WS69 arrays you can only register one of them to a single console. It also shows which other consoles you could potentially use as well as the WS2910 as mentioned by Graham.

In fact I’ve just noticed this in the description of the link above
“ The Ecowitt WS2910_C display console allows you to view data from your existing outdoor sensor array in a second location.”

Cheers

Paul

Excellent Paul, thank you very much for this info. I think I may buy another console when available 👍

That chart shows that a WS69 can report data to ALL the consoles listed across the top row of the chart.  But the "1" in each of the boxes indicates that any given console can only display data from (1) WS69 [at one time].

Its helpful to know that transmission from the sensor array to the console is 'one way' only. Meaning the sensor array transmits data, but it does not know if any device is actually listening/receiving data. So data from a given  sensor array can be received by multiple consoles -- all they need to do is be within radio range. Its similar to how AM/FM broadcasts work, your personal radio does not talk back to the radio station's transmitter.

(When it come to Ecowitt's IoT devices, like a remote power switch, or the water timer, those are two-way conversations.)
