August 7th. 2023. So It was a normal day with a marginal risk, me just minding my own business. When I saw a tornado warning pop up in Virginia. I was confused at first, but I let it slide. A little while later, one got issued for Montgomery county, as it tracked through Montgomery County, one in particular sent a shiver down my spine. a PDS Tornado Warning headed RIGHT TOWARDS ME. My radios were having a blast and all. As I got more and more Tornado Warnings with a friend on call, I went silent as I heard my phone go off. It was alerting me of a Tornado Warning. I knew I was screwed, me and my family + our pigs got to the basement. So in the basement and all, another one got issued, basically an extension. We were watching the weather coverage on TV but suddenly, the power got cut off. My mom swore she saw an orange light, thinking a transformer exploded. Luckily, I had brought a radio with me. So the coverage wasn't over. Once the warnings had finally expired for us, we left our basement. That didn't mean the warnings were over, as Harford County was next. I had to go to sleep in the pure dark. No light, nothing. It was very hard to sleep, brush my teeth and all. I didn't even take a shower because i'm used to taking hot showers. It was a little painful after that. But we got through it together. My dad came home after work, and had some mc donalds with him. And with a christmas miracle, the power turned back on. He had brought a cold water bottle. Me and my mom got ourselves together, I took a shower and so did she. I'll never forget this event.
