You know you're a weatherholic when ...

You get invited over to a friends house for dinner and while there you're eyeing their belongings imagining what would make a good radiation shield for your sensor.

Caught myself doing this last night. Got some interesting ideas from their stuff though.

Deffinately would not want to use clay pots. I have a shield that is made from saucers that go on the bottoms of the flower posts. Plastic of course. All you need is 7 to 9 bottoms, three sections of thread rod, and a whole bunch of nuts and washers. Mine works fairly well. Especially if you put a fan in it. Mine has a double roof on it to keep rain water out of the fan.

Thanks,
Anthony

You could use 1 inch lengths of 1/2 inch diameter plastic or copper pipe between the saucers as spacers instead of lots of nuts and washers.

The first thing you do (well, almost first) when you wake up is check the hourly weathergraph to see what the weather was doing while your were asleep. :-|

Who get out of bed to do that only have to roll over to check the little  graphing device I have there. Actully it is an old alarm clock that  store weather for pass 24 hour.  Used it  for traveling.

I have been known to get home from work at 4am, and set the alarm for 5:40 to read my CoCoRaHS gauge.

...you are in the middle of "married folk relations" with your spouse, and you stop everything, jump up to go look at your weather console/computer because an audible alert has sounded off.

 I am guilty of that.

There are many things you have to make sure stay "up" to stay functional. Computers and PWS's are no exception. I didn't say being a weatherholic was easy.
