The forum just reached the 1200 member mark!

Yep Congrats.

I was something like 843 about 100 days ago.

That is an increase of over around 360 in 100 or so days.

Also, thanks to the host.

Two pages of new or updated posts seems to be the norm now after 24 hours too.  More members, better chance to find help especially for the odd problems.

It has been quite a rush of new signups to the forum, and we're very pleased that our mutual meeting place is growing and the mutual aid is ever increasing!   We've been seeing signups at 2 to 6 new folks per day.

The stats are showing:

Average registrations per day:     2.06
Average posts per day:    31.29
Average topics per day:    4.06

And .. nary a flame-war to moderate...  WooHoo!

The bots that were trying to register have abated, and the new CAPTCHA seems to be holding them at bay (for now).

Well, then, what about ALMOND? I have a lot of ALMOND out there and it burns plenty HOT! And it makes NICE  BLUE FLAMES!

And I like CYPRESS too. It CRACKLES nice. You don't know NUTTIN about fires and wood.

Almond??  You don't burn almonds you eat almonds!   Cypress?  You burn that too?  All that crackling means sparks.  You don't want a chimney fire do you?  

   That reminded me of the time dad and I stopped to see an old fellow that had firewood for sale for a good price.  We was just about to load up a load of it and the old guy says BTW, your not planning on burning that in a fireplace are you?  I said well it is a free standing fireplace and sometimes we have the doors open to watch the fire.  The old guy explained to us that the firewood was actually a very old hedge row he had cleaned out along the field across the road.  He went on to say this stuff throws sparks all over the place as it burns.  Apparently he started to feel a little guilty as we'd stood there chatting with him for a fair spell and he must have taken a bit of a liking to us that spured him to mention it's source.  So in other words his firewood was fit for little more then a weenie roast in damp weather.  I learned to pay a little closer attention to what wood I was buying for a good price after that.

Like a fine Amish Mantle, the look of flames and some (jolly good) heat, but not enough to catch the margins ablaze ..  Please don't take this as a suggestion to crank up the intensity

You're right, Dr. Ken. I'm overdue for another round of Vicodin. I'm sorry. I apologize. I'll take my meds now and be a good lil forum member. I have hit the wall a little bit this evening and certainly won't make it to midnight local time.
