Ads on your site
« on: October 18, 2014, 08:41:25 PM »
I've been seeing more weather sites that have ads on them. It's their choice, It's their site to do what they want with it. I personally wouldn't add any to my site. Was curious to see what others think about the topic.

Considering that I run an ad-blocker on my own web browsers and spend way too much time professionally cleaning up the results of drive-by infections injected by ads on legitimate web sites, I would never consider ads or donations to cover my web costs for any service that I have ever provided.....

I don't have "ads" per se, but I do post links of favorites on both my sites. I don't charge for them, only post them as a TU to the folks I think are doing a good job.

May I ask, what is the purpose for this poll? Why this specific question??

Cause I was wondering what others thought about having ads on their site. Most polls do have a specific question.

Fair enough. I sell ads on my site for additional weather stations, programs, web site maintenance and costs and so on. The ads are only on the main page.

That's cool. I tried ads years ago, but had no luck with them. I get more in donations than the ads every gave me.
