Grandson doing ok still in sickbay recovering. Has an limp but looks like he going to recover. Not everyone  makes it away in mauling this lucky.

Hi Guys
 talked to grandson and he doing ok . He healed up better then was expected in his buttock. Doctor was afraid of deep muscle damage. he  back at work and out chasing critter on his time off. Thanks for your thoughts and prayer.

I missed this thread from the beginning.  I'm so sorry to hear about that.  I'm glad he's improving.  He'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

It sounds like they really need to do something about the bears there.

Well bears are really not the problem it people moving into the area bears habitat. As to the grandson  he was out in area  the army does training in of which bears, moose and caribou habitat  also. He was running compass course and just  turn around tree/brush and sow was right there. In fact Anchorage  is now just like any big city. shooting  and mugging going on all the time from the gangs there. Like wife says  it is no longer an little friendly town.
