That's good to hear, the whole Plains area has seemed like they've been in a drought the last two or three years, am I correct? Have you all had any serious water supply issues?
No, Stillwater gets it water from a 38 mile long, 3 ft. wide pipeline from Kaw Lake. Near the OK/KS border, the lake was carved into the Arkansas River decades ago. The Arkansas River is one of the longest rivers in the country as it makes its way to the Mississippi and gets much of its water from snow melt and springs in the Rockies. So the lake was only 1 ft. below normal during the height of the drought.
Before that, relying on a smaller, much nearer lake just didn't work out for Stillwater during dry summers, while discouraging prospects for new business and industry. And decades more before that the lake pictured in my graphic below eventually didn't work out for a reliable municipal water supply, either.
