Hays is getting absolutely nailed with this storm!

You've been waiting for this and finally get it. Congrats!

Took this from my kitchen window at 9:30am. Additional 8-13 inches on top of this today!

Looks like you guys got smashed in Hays.  We had a good solid 7 inches here followed by some freezing rain and freezing drizzle.  Not looking forward to cleaning the car tomorrow.

Measured 20in flat across my back yard. They have drifts 5-6 ft high throughout Hays. National guard is looking for stranded motorist and a state of emergency was issued.

Wow, is that an all time record breaker for snow depth there?   Snow has never been that deep in Stillwater in recorded history.  I think the record is around 14 in.

We didn't get what everyone was predicting. Especially the freezing rain on top of the snow. ah2223.myfoscam.org guest  guest   (use Server Push for Firefox, you might have to install a plugin). A friend of mine said as usual, the grocery stores were packed.

It looks like you got hit with the snow that was initially forecast to hit us to your north, Ryan.  We only received 8", and Jim Cantore was left entertaining the locals here all day when the big snow failed to materialize.  The local TV weathermen hit the nail on the head with an accurate analysis and prediction the day before, however.

It was the highest total for Feb. in 110 years.

It strikes me because all TWC talked about was KC. They mentioned Hays only one time when I-70 was shut down from Salina westward to Goodland. Low went further south and I got pounded.

I'd really like to see the NWS step in and request TWC cease the naming of Winter Storms starting with the 13-14 season. Some of the names are out and out ridiculous. DUMB is more like it. The arrogance of TWC...  #-o

On a different note I heard Hays, Kansas mentioned on the 12 noon eastern time News on NPR radio as I was driving my route today!! Keep the snow, please!!! We don't want or need it here in Ohio!!

Sad part of this is, come August, you won't be able to BUY precip.

Proposed board rule:  NO mention of the Roker channel.

Ha, I will abide to that!

Good to see some snow for you Ryan! If you had any drought problems, it's amazing how a good snow will erase them!

We have a huge drought problem here! And this snow won't put a dent in it. :-(

Hey Ryan,

How did your weather station hold up in the storm?  Any problems with wind or snow build up?
