Vantage Vue-Erratic Dewpoint readings
« on: October 02, 2022, 09:50:03 AM »
My Vantage Vue has started giving very low dewpoint readings from time to time, seems to be worse during the day. This morning is by far the worst it has ever been, it is currently giving a reading of -45.2 F with a temp of 53.7F.

Any suggestions as to what this might be? My first guess would be the humidity sensor starting to fail, but it has also not been serviced or even taken down and cleaned in some time. The battery is also several years old.

Thanks!

I've had that problem The cost to repair was more than half the cost of a new station so I just replaced it.

Well that is sad to hear.

Interestingly my unit seems to be accurate at night.

Dew point is derived from outside air temperature and outside humidity, so yes the most logical one of those to fail first is Humidity and depending on which version your Vue is it may require a complete harness change to fix the Temp/Humidity module?
