Yeah and take note who started every one of them.   I'm fine let's leave politics and religion totally out. But don't expect crickets if you want to bring politics into it.

In the USA, we can assign blame to our elected or appointed officials when we have got through to whatever our new normal is.  November we can elect a different president, or keep the present one in office. We can keep or replace senators, representatives, governors, and all those folks later.  We will hopefully have 4 years to have new trials, witch hunts, Easter egg hunts, where did I put my glasses hunts.   Right how however, isn't the time for this.  We can go after religious zealots who were so wrong in their guidance to their flocks.

What we can do is look out for each other, offer advice, protect those who have no protection.  We can urge family, friends, and the A$$hat down the block to shelter in place, just a little longer, until those infected develop the disease and hopefully recover, to realize stopping the spread is the key here, until those infected either survive or not. I know it sounds cruel.

We can do what we can to help everyone including ourselves during these times. Write a book, a screen play, develop online classes, code software for the mac weather , or for the PC.   Tweak the weather equipment, all of those things we normally do not have any time for.   Plan for the future, make the neighbors really wonder what we are up to with our weather things.

We are all up to this, but assigning blame (and I am one who does that),  we have Election day.

Now, pour yourself a cup of your favorite, kick off your shoes, sit a spell.  Just plan to make it through this , no matter how long it takes.

It is a little tiresome that people can come on here and attack politicians while pointedly pointing out their political party, attack the "farm state" (when it's very doubtful that the Idiots Out Walking Around  were farmers).  People from within and outside our nation can question our leadership while we're not supposed to respond because conservatism and patriotism are political.  People are accused of denigrating others while falsely being called "xenophobic" and such.

Someone can quote someone's comments, and when those comments aren't viewed in the context they were written in, the admin suddenly sees them as unacceptable and threatens to ban the one who wrote them, when he didn't see any problem with them before.  Then the person who dutifully reported the posts he didn't like because they were political then brings up politics.  :?

And it continues because its okay to bash religion as long as its conservatives, and not Islam God forbid.
Oh and I'm not religious. But this is not okay.

then let's have a little humor.

First-just want to say with the school year I was having-this was the best thing to happen to me. I have the worst class I have ever had. 28 years.

I make lessons-post them at 7:30.
Drink coffee. Also changed to Mt Dew Zero.
walk on the tread mill (new for me)
eat breakfast
check in a few times
I am working about a week ahead of time so I am ready. My associate teacher and I are sharing jobs. No stress.

I am going to link some things from another forum I am on-with the attempt at humor.
Remember-I teach 8th grade

Quote
"Half of us are going to come out of this quarantine as amazing cooks. The other half will come out with a drinking problem.

I used to spin that toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I'm cracking a safe.

I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.

Still haven't decided where to go for Easter ----- The Living Room or The Bedroom

PSA: every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.

Home-schooling is going well. 2 students suspended for fighting and 1 teacher fired for drinking on the job.

I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we'd go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone

This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog..... we laughed a lot.

So, after this quarantine.....will the producers of My 600 Pound Life just find me or do I find them?

Quarantine Day 5: Went to this restaurant called THE KITCHEN. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have no clue how this place is still in business.

My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet.

Day 5 of Homeschooling: One of these little monsters called in a bomb threat.

I'm so excited --- it's time to take out the garbage. What should I wear?

I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to ‘’Puerto Backyarda’’. I'm getting tired of ‘’Los Livingroom’’.

Classified Ad: Single man with toilet paper seeks woman with hand sanitizer for good clean fun.

Day 6 of Homeschooling: My child just said "I hope I don't have the same teacher next year".... I'm offended.

Better 6 feet apart than 6 feet under…."

Does anyone else have an issue with this?
In NY heart attacks deaths are way down, wonder why?

This came out 6 days ago a directive from CDC to list suspected deaths as COVID19.

Straight from CDC website:
In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID–19 cannot
be made, but suspected or likely it
is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate as
“probable” or “presumed.”

It does say to later test when time permitted for covid19 virus but results for a correction could come months from now.

Iowa is to get snow as I am guessing Minnesota  .   Supposedly less toward the South tier of counties.  Then cold at night. My fruit trees are just breaking bud, hopefully those who have not will be safe.

Officials in my county are hopeful for the future. No deaths, so far. From newspaper story:

"Payne County officials are encouraged by the public’s cooperation in taking steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 and are optimistic as the projected peak for hospitalizations and deaths in Oklahoma approaches.

The state's peak has been projected for some time next week, although the date varies from model to model.

As of Tuesday, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 2,184 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state and 108 total deaths related to the virus.

Payne County Commissioner Chris Reding noted Monday that the 28 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Payne County remained low considering the population of the county.

“Citizens are practicing good habits – we are seeing a lot more masks in use in public and it looks like the numbers are peaking and getting ready to trend down,” Reding said.“I want to encourage the citizens of Payne County to keep up the good work.”

Reding said he’s hopeful things can start to “open up” by the end of the month.

Emergency Management Director Jeff Kuhn echoed Reding’s comments and noted that Payne County had not yet suffered a death from the virus."

Harvard researchers are saying that some social distancing may need to continue through 2022....
Never happen. Either we start back to "normal" in the near future and it will kill us all via the virus itself or lack of feeding the masses. This is getting ridiculous.

My best guess we should have a vaccine well before 2 years maybe even this fall.
We could roll right now in parts of Nebraska with many businesses taking precautions of course with the vulnerable.
This won't be easy for sure but it has to be done. We will not survive shut down much longer. Throwing money at it won't stop a total disaster of business collapses nationwide on a scale we haven't seen. Permanent unemployment for millions. I expect inside of 4 weeks to see some Governors moving to reopen certain areas even before the June date. Once parts of the economy start opening it will be a snowball effect.  Hard hit areas like NYC may not get open for some time and may even have to wait for a vaccine.

Yepp. Those that push for this shutdown to go on for months might should imagine themselves and their family standing in line at a soup kitchen waiting for a meal.... Could get really ugly.

Interesting times .... and the resourcefulness of mankind.

In 100hr the University College of London Hospital and Mercedes F1 have redesigned, manufactured and tested a COPD. Simple to use and non-intrusive, leaving ventilators free for the most serious cases. Mercedes hopeful of manufacturing 10,000 / week.
https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2020/mar/ucl-uclh-and-formula-one-develop-life-saving-breathing-aids-nhs

Testing in hospitals and approval now given.
10,000 units as promised dispatched to National Health Service.

The modified design and manufacturing details have made a free download !

On a grey note ...
Another forum I am connected with have their first known COVID 19 hospitalization.
He is in New Zealand where they went into lock down after only two confirmed cases !

Closer to my (UK) home ... Local Heath Authority report total 146 Hospital deaths - In UK only hospital confirmed cases are used for statistics.
Those who die in care homes and at home with no test having been done are NOT included in daily totals.

The real 'cost' can only be guessed at for the moment

Imagine what you will KNOW tomorrow !
