Topic: Goes16 GIF Animation

They're not currently creating the Lightning GIF loops.
I'm not making any changes until the GIF loops get sorted out.

I looked at the folder that the GIF used to be in.  There are other JPG files being updated.  It's just the GIF image that isn't being generated.

The GOES satellite page had a contact link.  I reached out to them.  I got the following response:

Investigating. We had a major code update last week, and those might not have been switched on afterwards.

Bravo!!!  The GIF loops in all their variations have been restored as of this morning.  No changes were needed to the script!

This morning the GIF loops pointed to by this script are stale, i.e. yesterday's loops.

The animations on NESDIS are current however. Moreover they're creating GIF loops for all of the derivations with either 12 or 24 frame animations.

This script needs a major overhaul when I get a chance...

Meanwhile the HAniS-based loops keep chugging along because they assemble the loop from the individual images.

  No, it's not going away.  Yesterday NOAA switches our western satellites production from GOES-17 to GOES-18 and we've been debugging some issues since then.  We expect Animated GIFs to restart shortly.

NESDIS has updated their offerings and there I have new HANIS and GIF loop scripts on my scripts page. All of my GOES 16 and GOES 18 scripts needed updating.

The 16 tabbed file still reflects GEOS17, not the GEOS18.  And I didn't see the tabbed file in the ZIP for the GOES18.

I'm only referring to the HANIS version.

I'm know at last what you're talking about, but your dyslexia is worse than mine (GEOS vs. GOES)

I included the old tabbed file and I just need to remove it from the zip. There's a separate script on my site just for the tabbed file.

I just looked at the tabbed zip, and it's got big problems, so it also needs to be updated.  I'll get on it.

I'm confused.  The tabbed ZIP file from 8/06/22, the GOES18 tab wasn't working.  What files should be I updating?

I re-uploaded the TABBED files.  Both my 16/18 are working...

The key files are the GOES16 and GOES18 HAniS scripts which weren't updated in the GOES16-18Tabbed script on my site. I just needed to update those to the current scripts, and everything works as it should, (I hope). You solved the problem by re-uploading the current HAniS scripts.
EDIT:
You need to upload the latest GOES16 and GOES18 HAniS scripts because I see that you're using the deprecated versions.

DayCloudPhase and NightMicroPhysics have been combined into DayNightCloudMicroCombo!
